Thousands attend Islamabad’s Annual Zuljinah procession (Detail) Bokhari flays curb on
ISLAMABAD, March 12: The thousands participants of Annual Zuljinah procession taken out from Jamia-tul-Murtaza G-9/4 Islamabad under the auspices of Agha Syed Hamid Ali Shah Moosavi, chief of the Tehreek Nafaz Fiqh-e-Jafariya, Pakistan reiterated their resolve to disseminate the message of Hussainiyyat for survival and solidarity of motherland Pakistan and for promoting Sunni-Shia brotherhood and every conspiracy of enemies of religion and motherland would be thwarted through mutual unity. Addressing the Matamdaran-e-Hussain at Muhammadi Chowk G-9/2, Khateeb Fateh-e-Furat said grief of Imam Aali Muqaam (A.S.) is not inheritance of any particular sect rather his sacrifice was for human values and for survival of principles of Allah that is why every conscious person is indebted to Hussain ibne Ali
The participants adopting a resolution presented by Syed Raza Abidi on this occasion made it clear that Muharramul Haraam is the month of mourning of Imam Aali Muqaam (A.S.) and is commensurate with the greatest worship i.e. Azadari Mazloom-e-Karbala. It said there would have been no calls for prayer in mosques today if Hussain ibne Ali (A.S.) had not presented his sacrifice in Karbala. But, it said Ashra-e-Muharram has almost passed but the government has not yet set up Muharram Azadari Cells at Federal and provincial level despite their attention was sought on this matter many a time as a result of which Azadars were facing host of problems.
Another resolution lamented that musical and comedy programmes were still going on the electronic media, political activities were rife despite the possibility of holding Assembly session before or after Ayyam-e-Aza but the respect of this holy month was not kept in mind that is tragic.
Another resolution said that Azadari has taught the way of lodging protest to the world and it is an established fact that there is no big an oppressed than Hussain (A.S.) in the world and no protest bigger than Azadari participation in which could help thwart all plans laid down by Yazidaan-e-Asr but sincerity of purpose was a prerequisite for this purpose.
Strongly condemning the uncalled for restrictions on ulama and zakireen, the resolution said it has become an obsolete tradition and even those who have died a long ago are not spared. It seems that the rulers have no contact with the people.
The resolution demanded from the government to set up Azadari Cells at Federal and provincial level including Azad Kashmir and Northern Areas, uncalled for restrictions imposed on ulama and zakireen should be withdrawn, terrorists and peace-loving should not be dealt with one stick, Anti-Terrorism Ordinance should be effectively implemented in letter and spirit while the government as well as the opposition should avoid making banned terrorist groups as their stooges.
Yet another resolution reiterated its resolve to fully implement the country-wide Code of Azadari announced by Quaid-i-Millat Jafariya, Pakistan, Agha Syed Hamid Ali Shah Moosavi and demanded from the government to give ideological representation to Maktab-e-Tashayyo in all State departments and implement the May 21, 1985 Junejo-Moosavi agreement for solution of long-standing problems faced by the Millat-e-Jafariya Pakistan.
Ch. Mushtaq Hussain in his address on the occasion paid rich homage to
Later, Azadaran presented the “Pursa” of the Mazloom-e-Karbala through Zanjeer-Zani. The procession terminated at Jamia Imam Al-Sadiq Karachi Company after passing through its designated route. Various Matmi Halqas from Federal Capital Islamabad and surrounding areas participated in Matamdari. Shabih of Zuljinah, Alam, Gehwara Ali Asghar (AS), Mehndi & Taboot Shahzada Qasim (AS) were included in the taburrakaat of the procession.
Pak Haideri Scouts, Mukhtar Force, Mukhtar Students Organisation, Mukhtar Generation and other religious and political organisations took part in organising the procession. Arrangements for Sabeel and Langar-e-Hussaini were also made during the procession. Members of the Muharram Committee of Tehreek Nafaz Fiqh-e-Jafariya Pakistan District Islamabad accompanied by convener Allama Guftaar Hussain Sadiqi, high Administration officials and a heavy contingent of police remained with the procession throughout. Earlier, Allama Shaikh Ijaz Hussain Modarris and others addressed the Majlis-e-Aza held at Jamia Al-Murtaza prior to the Zuljinah procession. END
RAWALPINDI, March 10: Convener of the Central Muharram Committee of Tehreek Nafaz Fiqh-e-Jafariya, Pakistan Syed Shujaat Ali Bokhari while strongly condemning restriction on 60 year long Azadari in the ancestral village of Prime Minister Mir Zafarullah Jamali, Rojhan Jamali has termed it an act of encroaching upon the basic rights. Giving his reaction on a letter received at Markazi Azadari Cell of the Tehreek from Sadat Research Institute Balochistan, he said, in the previous eras governments used to set up Azadari Cells at all the four provinces and Northern Areas and at the Interior Ministry and the Ministry of Religious Affairs that not only resolved the issues but also earned good name for the government. He lamented that the present government did not take any active step in this connection despite being reminded several times rather unnecessary hurdles are being created in Azadari in various parts of the country so much so that restriction on Majalis and Azadari processions has been imposed in Prime Minister Mir Zafarullah Jamalis own village Rojhan Jamali that is tragic and condemnable. He said that we have informed the Prime Minister of Pakistan, other related departments and Chairman of the Human Rights Commission about the letter received from Sadat Research Institute Balochistan. He said we could not lodge effective protest against oppressions and restrictions imposed on Azadari in Held Kashmir and other countries unless we correct ourselves in this regards. END
