Pervez Musharraf with politicians during the Ashra-e-Muharram has said these days are reserved for Nawasa-e-Rasool Hazrat Imam Hussain (A.S.) and martyrs of Karbala. He said the Quaid-i-Millat Jafariya, Pakistan, Agha Syed Hamid Ali Shah Moosavi while announcing a 17-point Code of Azadari through a Press conference just before Muharram had specially drawn the attention towards this fact that political activities should be suspended during Muharram. He said the Founder of Pakistan Quaid-i-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah had refused to meet a very big personality during the holiest days and if the spirit of the Founder of Pakistan is followed in letter and spirit then Pakistan could become a hub of peace and the whole world could be transformed into a beacon of light by all means. He demanded that meetings with politicians should be suspended in respect of Ashra-e-Muharram and efforts should be made instead to pay homage to the sacrifices of The Spokesman said attention of all government departments including President of Pakistan and the Interior Ministry had been invited before Muharram that like past years, Muharram Cells should be formed in consultation with the Interior Ministry and the Ministry for Religious Affairs this year also but government has taken no step in this direction yet. He said Muharram Cells should be set up in the Interior Ministry, all the four provinces, Northern Areas and Azad Kashmir and their telephone numbers should be publicised through electronic and print media so that problems faced by Azadars could be resolved. The Spokesman demanded that all those arrested without any justification for the last two and a half months should be released immediately, comedy programmes should be stopped at the television and radio, and the Code of Azadari announced by Quaid-i-Millat Jafariya, Pakistan, Agha Syed Hamid Ali Shah Moosavi should be implemented so that fear and harassment could be rooted out and all conspiracies hatched by the enemies of Islam and Pakistan could be thwarted. He said we keep ideology, motherland and the people dearest of all other things. He advised the people to remain in contact with the Control Rooms set up by the Markazi and Provincial Muharram Committees of Tehreek Nafaz Fiqh-e-Jafariya and thwart the designs of perpetual enemy by promoting mutual unity, understanding and brotherhood. END Moosavi: Offering Azadari rites ‘part of our basic human rights’ RAWALPINDI, March 20: Agha Syed Hamid Ali Shah Moosavi, chief of the Tehreek Nafaz Fiqh-e-Jafariya, Pakistan has said that offering the Azadari rites is a part of our basic human rights denial to which is an insult to humanity and encroachment of our independence. He stated this while talking to a delegation that called on him at the head of an Azadar from Mauza Teetri Note of Bagh, Azad Kashmir, Dr. Shafaat Hussain here on Wednesday. The delegation, in an application handed over to him, disclosed that the local Administration was creating unnecessary hurdles in way of Azadari programmes and if this situation prevails here then how can our electronic media was highlighting restrictions imposed on Muharram programmes by the Indian government in the Held Kashmir. They said they are not aware that who are the elements our Administration is trying to please by doing so. The TNFJ chief said he had announced a 17-point Code of Azadari just before Muharram and Control Rooms of the TNFJ Muharram Committee have been established in all the four provinces including Azad Kashmir and Northern Areas. He said attention of the powers that be has been drawn to form Muharram Cells at Federal as well as Provincial level, advertise the same through media and these Cells should be advised to keep a contact with the Markazi Muharram Committee of the TNFJ. He said the powers that be should have consulted the Code of Azadari announced by him while taking any decision and should have to keep the interest of the nation and the country supreme over all other matters. Agha Moosavi said had the Anti-Terrorism Ordinance issued by President of Pakistan implemented in letter and spirit then: there would have no terrorism incident at Masjid Shah-e-Najaf in Rawalpindi, no incident of murder and arson in Karachi, no grenade attack on an Islamabad church, no terrorism incident in Lahore the other day killing Syed Hassan Raza, Prof. Ataur Rehman and his driver, and no terrorism incident taking the lives of former PPP leader Akhlaq Ahmed alias Guddu and his driver had taken place. He said we feel our combined enemy is behind all these incidents and there is need for us to remain more vigilant and watchful besides expressing hatred against terrorist groups. He advised the President of Pakistan to form enquiry committees to probe the incidents of terrorism all around the country like he did in case of Islamabad church incident. The Quaid-i-Millat Jafariya, Pakistan, Agha Syed Hamid Ali Shah Moosavi said our perpetual enemy was busy hatching a conspiracy to create differences amongst party leaders by creating hatred between Muslims and minorities through killing people belonging to minority community besides creating differences amongst different Makatib and Masalak carrying out terrorist attacks aimed at killing people belonging to different schools of thought. He said we are still of the opinion that a terrorist keeps no country, Maslak, sect or party, he is only terrorist and should be considered, handled and tackled in that context with an iron hand. He said we feel it our religious and Islamic duty to thwart every conspiracy of the enemies of Islam and Pakistan and it could only be possible when government would transform our proposals into reality and take concrete steps in this connection. END TNFJ Spokesman expresses deep grief over terrorism incidents in Lahore RAWALPINDI, March 19: The Central Spokesman of Tehreek Nafaz Fiqh-e-Jafariya, Pakistan while expressing deep grief and sorrow over the martyrdom of Prof. Ata-ur-Rahman, his driver and Syed Hassan Raza has termed the incident an open act of terrorism. In a statement issued here on Tuesday, he said despite imposition of ban on terrorist groups and issuance of an ordinance to root out terrorism, an unending chain of terrorism incidents has started that is an open challenge for the powers that be. He stated that some powers were busy in giving the impression through the acts of murder and arson that these incidents are of sectarian nature which is not correct. The spokesman said that Quaid-i-Millat Jafariya, Pakistan, Agha Syed Hamid Ali Shah Moosavi had been saying from the very beginning that there is no Maktabi or Maslaki conflict in Pakistan and Sunni and Shia are brothers in Islam while the continued incidents of terrorism spread over two and a half decades are the act of our perpetual enemy. He said the country at present was surrounded by enemies from all around therefore the government should take concrete steps instead of giving lip-service. He said the government should take guidance from the Code of Azadari announced by Tehreek Nafaz Fiqh-e-Jafariya on the occasion of Muharramul Haram while taking any step and give top priority to the integrity of the motherland over all other things. Strongly demanding from the government to unveil terrorists and give them exemplary punishment he also appealed the people to remain fully alert and watchful keeping an eye on subversive elements. END Chairman TNFJ PC terms attack on capital Church inhuman activity ISLAMABAD, March 19: S.A. Bokhari, Chairman TNFJ Political Cell while strongly condemning the incident of terrorism at an Islamabad Church has termed it an inhuman activity. In a statement issued here on Tuesday he said terrorists were roaming about freely despite ban on organisations involved in terrorism. He said had the terrorists put into jail then the present situation would not have arisen. S.A. Bokhari strongly demanded from the government to arrest the assassins of all those who fell victim to incidents of terrorism in the country including those who lost their lives in Islamabad church incident, unveil them and award them exemplary punishment. RAWALPINDI, March 18: Agha Syed Hamid Ali Shah Moosavi, chief of the Tehreek Nafaz Fiqh-e-Jafariya, Pakistan has said that failure to check terrorism, going on for the two and a half decades in Pakistan, despite issuance of Anti-Terrorism Ordinance and banning of terrorist groups is an open challenge and food for thought for the government. He stated this while talking to the office-bearers of Markazi Muharram Committee of the TNFJ here on Monday. He said the Administration has failed in transforming the announcements made by President of Pakistan into reality because there is restriction on terrorist groups but there is no restriction on terrorists. The TNFJ chief said had the terrorists been arrested then Anwar Ali Tirmizi, Zulfiqar Haider and Dr. Anwarul Islam would not have fallen victim to terrorism in Karachi (Sindh), about a dozen would not have been martyred and 18 persons injured in the Shah-e-Najaf incident in Rawalpindi, incident of terrorism in an Islamabad church would not have taken place and an important dignitary of Balochistan province, chief of the Hazara tribe and councillor of Union Council Mach, Haji Muhammad Jan Hazara would not have fallen victim to terrorism while going to attend a Majlis. He said these incidents indicate that none of the Pakistan’s part is out of reach for terrorists, and they could carry out terrorism anywhere and whenever they like as a result of which Pakistan has been turned into “Majroohistan”. Agha Moosavi said they had presented some recommendations to the Federal Interior Ministry through sending a delegation and reminded them of the same several times afterwards but, unfortunately, they did not implement these recommendations yet so much so that the powers that be are not ready to listen anything on phone. He said the President has taken a wise step by forming a committee to launch an enquiry into the Islamabad church terrorism incident. He should also order formation of enquiry committee in all the four provinces, he added. He said if this incident is the result of carelessness on the part of secret agencies then it would be carelessness on the part of the government and they lose any justification to rule because the foremost thing for a government is to restore law and order and provide protection to its people. He said remained extraordinarily active during the first two days of Muharram but now policemen are rarely spotted outside the places of worship. The Quaid-i-Millat Jafariya, Pakistan, Agha Syed Hamid Ali Shah Moosavi has asked the President of Pakistan that Pakistan at present was surrounded by the enemies therefore he should look up to the TNFJ Code of Azadari while taking any concrete and active steps, give up all reservations for the integrity of the motherland, Muharram Cells should be set up at Federal and Provincial level to ensure law and order and to resolve all possible problems faced by Azadars during Muharram, publicise the formation of these Cells on media and direct the officials posted in these Cells to keep a contact with the Control Room of the Markazi Muharram Committee of the TNFJ so that all Azadari problems could be resolved, and terrorists should be unveiled and treated with an iron hand. He also appealed the people to remain alert and vigilant. He said we consider murder of a human being as a murder of the whole mankind, and murder of any Pakistani as a murder of the “Pakistaniyyat”. He said we respect human beings and Pakistan and their honour and dignity is dearest of every other thing to us. END
Moosavi terms church attack enmity against humanity and RAWALPINDI, March 17: Agha Syed Hamid Ali Shah Moosavi, chief of the Tehreek Nafaz Fiqh-e-Jafariya, Pakistan while strongly condemning the act of terrorism at a church in Islamabad has termed it enmity against humanity and Pakistan. In a statement issued here on Sunday, he said this act was the work of those powers that were averse to the solidarity, development, honour and dignity of Pakistan. He said this incident is part of the chain of continued and unending incidents of terrorism throughout the country because our perpetual enemy desires to divert the world attention from the government patronised anti-Muslim riots, desecration of mosques, Mazars, religious institutions, churches and gurdwaras in India. Agha Moosavi said the act of terrorism at a church in Pakistan’s Federal Capital is a proof of the challenge thrown on Pakistan by our perpetual enemy in which they had said that they can do anything anywhere in Pakistan. Strongly condemning this tragic incident, Agha Moosavi made it clear that every human being is respectable for Islam and Pakistan came into being in the name of Islam. He said this incident is an insult to the humanity and we strongly condemn it and pray for the departed souls and express sympathies with the bereaved families. The Quaid-i-Millat Jafariya, Pakistan, Agha Syed Hamid Ali Shah Moosavi said that he had announced a Code of Azadari in connection with Muharramul Haram at a Press conference a few days ago. He said on that occasion he had asked the government to make special protective measures during Muharram but the government did not follow the Code of Azadari and not yet implemented it. Demanding concrete steps for restoration of peace in the country, he asked the people to remain alert and watch and keep an eye on the miscreants. END TNFJ Secretary General concerns over imposing restrictions on ulema, zakireen during Muharram RAWALPINDI, March 17: Syed Mazhar Ali Advocate, Secretary General of the Tehreek Nafaz Fiqh-e-Jafariya, Pakistan has asked the President Gen. Pervez Musharraf to issue directives for special steps taking personal interest to resolve the problems faced by Azadars during Muharramul Haram and to ensure law and order in the country. In a special letter addressed to the President of Pakistan on Sunday, he made it clear that Tehreek Nafaz Fiqh-e-Jafariya has always kept the welfare of the religion and the motherland dearer to them. He said a delegation led by Convener of the Markazi Muharram Committee of Tehreek Nafaz Fiqh-e-Jafariya had a meeting with Iftikhar Ahmed, Joint Secretary (Political), Ministry of Interior and presented some written recommendations. These recommendations, Mazhar Ali Shah said, demanded formation of Azadari Cells at Federal Interior Ministry, Ministry of Religious Affairs, and at Provincial level from Muharramul Haram 1 to Rabiul Awwal 8 and announce the same through media while the officers responsible at these Cells should be directed to keep a contact with the Markazi Control Room at the headquarters of Tehreek Nafaz Fiqh-e-Jafariya, Pakistan so as to resolve the problems they may crop up during Muharram and remove the sense of lack of protection in the people; the Education Ministry should be asked not to give any exam schedule during the Ayyam-e-Muharram; electronic media should stop presenting music, dramas, and comedy programmes and present maximum programmes paying homage to the Shuhada-e-Karbala; the President had rightly decided to give special permission for use of loudspeaker for Wa’az but the Administration was unnecessarily harassing the organisers of Majalis on this count. He said in the meeting summoned by the Interior Ministry on January 13 last year it was reiterated that imposing restriction on use of loudspeaker was not the solution of the problem rather restrictions should be imposed on its misuse and lawful action should be taken against those who fan hatred and provoke others. The TNFJ Secretary General in his letter expressed grave concern over imposing restrictions on ulema and zakireen all over the country during Muharram. In this connection name of those ulema and zakireen are also included who have expired a long ago. He said such restrictions not only create problems for ulema and zakireen in earning their livelihood but Azadari programmes are also affected therefore he said such restrictions should not be imposed and the already imposed restrictions on entry of ulema and zakireen in different districts should immediately be lifted. He however suggested that these speakers should be directed to follow the Code of Azadari in letter and spirit. The letter pointed out that Pakistan Television was extending biased attitude against the Maktab-e-Tashih and as a proof he mentioned that the Press conference held by Quaid-i-Millat Jafariya, Pakistan, Agha Syed Hamid Ali Shah in which he had announced Code of Azadari was not given coverage while all other religious and political parties are given extensive coverage on Pakistan Television. Syed Mazhar Ali Shah Advocate said imposing ban by President Gen. Pervez Musharraf on terrorist groups was a right steps but people belonging to the banned organisations were roaming about freely while the workers of Tehreek Nafaz Fiqh-e-Jafariya had been arrested and they have not yet been set free after passage of 65 days despite instructions issued by the Interior Ministry. Those arrested also include a 90-year-old elder, he added. He said despite clear-cut announcement of President of Pakistan for special permission for Wa’az, the Punjab government has forcibly removed the loudspeakers hurling threats on Azadars, which is totally unfair. He lamented that every government after the Quaid-i-Azam had ignored the Maktab-e-Tashih. He said although the present government was taking some good steps but even in their tenure Ahle Tashih were being ignored in all State institutions. He said our sacrifices are not low by any standards and we are ready to present every type of sacrifice for the solidarity, integrity and survival of the religion and the motherland in future. He said we keep the religion and the motherland dearer of all other things. He expressed the hope that the President would remove the trend of injustice and excesses so as to remove the unrest found in the ranks of Maktab-e-Tashih. END TNFJ Muharram Committee Control Room to work round the clock during Ayam-e-Aza RAWALPINDI, March 16: Syed Shujaat Ali Bokhari, Convener Markazi Muharram Committee of the Tehreek Nafaz Fiqh-e-Jafariya, Pakistan has nominated Muharram Committee representatives in all the four provinces of the country including Azad Kashmir and Northern Areas. Addressing a meeting on the occasion in the Markazi Control Room here on Saturday he called upon the government to form Muharram Cells at Federal and Provincial levels so as to resolve the problems faced by Azadars and direct them to keep a contact with the Control Room of Markazi Muharram Committee of the TNFJ. Shujaat Bokhari lamented that the TNFJ delegation had presented some recommendations regarding arrangements in connection with the Muharram to the top brass of the Interior Ministry but no action has yet been taken on them, Azadars are being harassed, traditional ban is being imposed on ulema and zakireen so much so that even the deceased ulema and zakireen were not spared. He demanded from the President of Pakistan Gen. Pervez Musharraf and the Federal Interior Minister to issue special orders to resolve the problems faced by Azadars during the month of Muharram and get the Code of Azadari announced by Quaid-i-Millat Jafariya, Pakistan, Agha Syed Hamid Ali Shah Moosavi implemented strictly. Shujaat Bokhari said that the Markazi Control Room of the TNFJ Muharram Committee would work round the clock and the Azadars could contact us on telephone no. 051-4840625 in case of any Azadari problem or send the same on Fax No. 051-4410180. In addition they can also contact us on our E-mail addres: azadari@tnfj.org.pk. Members of the Muharram Committee nominated at provincial level are: Sardar Mumtaz Ali Qazilbash, Dr. Iqbal Javed Haideri, Syed Shabab Al-Hussaini, Jawad Hussain Jawad (Sarhad); Tariq Ahmed Jafri, Muhammad Ali Advocate, Mehdi Askari (Balochistan); Syed Abul Abbas Bokhari, Asif Ali Bhatti, Zafar Abbas Naqvi (Punjab); Syed Lutufullah Shah Lakyari, Najam Ali Baqar, Syed Hassan Raza Rizvi, Syed Anwar Hussain Jafri (Sindh); Syed Riaz Hussain Kazmi, Kh. Basharat Ali Jafri, Syed Sultan Ali Kazmi (Azad Kashmir); and Akhunzada Ghulam Muhammad Ammoni, Syed Mehdi Shah Al-Hussaini (Northern Areas). Syed Shujaat Bokhari called upon the Azadars to strictly implement the Code of Azadari as announced by Quaid-i-Millat Jafariya, Pakistan, Agha Syed Hamid Ali Shah Moosavi and offer Azadari rites without any fear with independence. He said the sacrifice offered by Imam Aali Muqaam Hussain ibne Ali (A.S.) was for respect of mankind and survival of humanity therefore not only Muslims but all conscientious human beings should remember the sacrifice of Nawasa-e-Rasool (A.S.) with respect, devotion, honour and sincerity. He appealed all countrymen to thwart every conspiracy and evil tactic of the enemies of the religion and the motherland by actively displaying unity, brotherhood and mutual understanding during the Ayyam-e-Aza and remain alert and watchful throughout. END Moosavi’s special message on the beginning of Muharram ul Haram RAWALPINDI, March 15: Agha Syed Hamid Ali Shah Moosavi, chief of the Tehreek Nafaz Fiqh-e-Jafariya, Pakistan has said the sacrifice of Imam Aali Muqaam Hazrat Hussain ibne Ali (A.S.) and his 72 die-hard companions and offspring were for respect to mankind and survival of humanity and would remain a beacon of light for the oppressed world till eternity. He stated this in a special message issued on the beginning of Muharram. He said Muharramul Haram is the holy month of the Islamic calendar that initiates the feeling of sacrifice and Islam is commensurate with that spirit that is why Allama Iqbal had termed Ismail (A.S.) the beginning of Dastaan-e-Haram and Hussain (A.S.) as its peak. Agha Moosavi said Hussain ibne Ali (A.S.) gave priority to death with honour over life in disgrace. He said source of movements of the oppressed and have-nots including that of Palestinians and Kashmiris the world over is Karbala. He said the immortal lesson of Karbala is fear from Allah and only Allah. He said at present the whole world of humanity is faced with the world of Mustakbereen and the oppressed who desire to suppress the movements of the oppressed world using different tactics one by one therefore the anti-Muslim riots in India are a part of this conspiracy under which India and Israel were massacring Kashmiris and Palestinians, respectively. Similarly, he said anarchy was prevailing in Muslim States, Pakistan is surrounded all around by international colonial powers and their agents who desire to destabilise it by creating lawlessness in Pakistan. The Quaid-i-Millat Jafariya, Pakistan, Agha Syed Hamid Ali Shah Moosavi has appealed all patriotic forces to thwart the conspiracies of enemies of Islam and Pakistan and display exemplary unity and brotherhood in remembering Syed-us-Shahada that would be a bright example for the whole world. END TNFJ chief announces 17-point Code of Azadari
RAWALPINDI, March 14: Agha Syed Hamid Ali Shah Moosavi, chief of the Tehreek Nafaz Fiqh-e-Jafariya, Pakistan has said Azadari is the essence of worships and a universal protest of Mazloomin against the oppressors and our basic right on which no restriction, hurdle, interference including use of loudspeaker was neither accepted by our forefathers nor we would accept it therefore the government should display large-heartedness. He also announced a 17-point Code of Azadari on this occasion. Answering questions from newsmen, Agha Moosavi said the issue of terrorism should not be linked with Muharram. He said all including the government has accepted this point of view that there is no Maslaki or Maktabi conflict in Pakistan but there is need to avoid black sheep and the whole nation including the government should announce hatred against them.
Answering a question about restriction on use of loudspeaker imposed by the Punjab government, Agha Moosavi said a Momin is bound to the commandments of Allah only. He asked under whom the Punjab Government was working? Is there no Federal control over it? When the President of Pakistan had openly announced in his address to the nation that there is special permission for Wa’az, and is there any Wa’az that is more superior than Hussainiyyat? If the government could use loudspeaker in all programmes, conferences, seminars etc. from down to high level then there is no need to take any permission for its use for Hussainiyyat. However those who use the loudspeaker should be bound not to fan hatred. He said one could make ‘Rehl’ for Holy Quran or create an idol from a piece of wood; grapes could be used to make vinegar or wine. It depends on the use how the one uses the things at his disposal. He said loudspeaker is one of the tools of media on the use of which there is no restriction, however the users may be bound to make its good use. Agha Moosavi said it seems that there is no coordination between the Federal and Provincial governments because the Federal government taking a good step imposed ban on terrorist groups but the terrorists were still roaming about freely and those on whom no restriction has been imposed were behind the bars because they are peaceful and most of them belong to class-iv servants. He said the Interior Ministry has already said that there is no restriction on Tehreek Nafaz Fiqh-e-Jafariya and the Sindh, Balochistan and NWFP governments have honoured the Interior Ministry’s orders and released the innocent people but the Punjab government has not yet followed these instructions. He told newsmen that it is clearly mentioned in the January 14 letter of the Interior Ministry that the people belonging to Tehreek Nafaz Fiqh-e-Jafariya should be released and should not be arrested again if they are not required in any other crime. It is a Federal government order and we feel that there is no coordination between the Federal and Provincial governments. President is saying that there is permission for Wa’az while Governor is saying that there would be restriction on use of loudspeaker. The TNFJ chief said that President of Pakistan had imposed ban on terrorist groups while the Administration downunder was hosting meals for the banned organisations. He said news that the Interior Ministry has ordered release of arrested workers of Tehreek Nafaz Fiqh-e-Jafariya was published in national newspapers with banner headlines but 15 innocent people were still behind the bars in the Punjab province including Ghulam Raza of Bhakkar and 90-year-old Sardar Noor Khan because they are peaceful. He said Gulzar Hussain Shah of Bhabra Wah Cantt. who belongs to Ahle Sunnat and his son Rizwan Hussain Shah are also behind the bars. He said we do not talk about Ahle Tashih only, Ahle Sunnat are also a part of our heart and the example of the Markaz is like a hospital where everyone could come and Ahle Sunnat also come here with their woes. He said the Interior Ministry has recently told our representative that the Ministry has issued instructions for the fourth time while there is duplicity in the words and deeds of the Administration. They make the terrorists sit besides them instead of arresting them and they keep no contact with the real representative bodies. He said they have received a letter from the Punjab government in connection with a meeting in which the name of a banned organisation was also mentioned. He said we have no personal friendship or enmity with any one, and standards of our friendship and enmity are ideology, Pakistan and its people. He said the government was staging a drama by imposing ban on terrorists on one hand and inviting them for meals on the other. gha Moosavi said it should be kept in mind that the government that keeps a contact with people emerges successful. Advisers play an important role in this connection, he said adding that someone asked Maula-e-Kainaat Ali Al-Murtaza (A.S.) that the era of the Holy Prophet (SAW) was successful. He replied that the Holy Prophet (SAW) had advisers like us and we have the ones like you He said the responsibility of all wrongs lay on the President; if any wrong has been done in the era of Nawaz Sharif then it would come on Nawaz Sharif; and if it had been done in the era of Benazir then it would come on Benazir. Therefore, the President of Pakistan should keep a close contact with the people and keep in mind we are not amongst those who ask for favours but amongst those who give something because the hand that gives is better than the hand that receives and then consultations with the intelligentsia is also necessary. nswering a question about incidents of terrorism in Karachi he termed it a heinous conspiracy that would be thwarted like ever through mutual unity, brotherhood and mutual understanding. Answering a question about a threat to stop the Ashoora procession from some people who were staging protest against terrorism in Karachi, Agha Moosavi said he does not consider it a right step, this motherland is ours and we would have to protect it ourselves and the Sunni and Shia would thwart every conspiracy against it. He said uttering such words in Azadari programmes is not right by any standards and those who are saying would the agents of enemies of Islam and Pakistan. The Quaid-i-Millat Jafariya, Pakistan, Agha Syed Hamid Ali Shah Moosavi while announcing the 17-point Code of Azadari said: 1) The government should get the May 21, 1985 Junejo-Mausavi agreement fully implemented in connection with bringing out of mourning processions; 2) Azadari Cells should be set up at Federal Interior Ministry, Ministry for Religious Affairs, and at Provincial levels and publicised through media. Responsible persons of these Cells should be directed to keep a close contact with the Central Muharram Committee’s Control Room at TNFJ headquarters so as to resolve any problem confronted during Muharram. These Muharram Cells should remain there from 1st Muharram to 8th Rabiul Awwal because Azadari processions and Majalis are regularly organised during the Ayyam-e-Aza; 3) The President of Pakistan took a right decision to allow special Wa’az (address) in connection with the use of loud-speaker in his address to the nation on January 12. Therefore the Administration should respect that decision. However they could take action against those who, according to President of Pakistan, preach hatred and anger; 4) The holy month of Muharramul Haram reminds us of exemplary sacrifices rendered by Nawasa-e-Rasool Syed-us-Shuhada Hazrat Imam Hussain (A.S.) and his die-hard companions but our electronic media mostly presents Hamd-o-Naat and poems during the first 10 days of Muharram while there is need for our electronic and print media to highlight the great sacrifices of Martyrs of Karbala in an effective manner, but also to avoid ‘Munkiraat’ and keep off from all musical and comedy programmes and dramas; 5) Effective and strong protective measures should be taken before hand during Majalis-e-Aza and Azadari processions at sensitive places; 6) The military leadership should not enforce any law that encroaches upon the rights of anyone and no one should be allowed to take law into his hands; 7) Special arrangements for light and cleanliness should be made at the places of Majalis-e-Aza and en route all mourning processions throughout the country and the military leadership should direct District Administration throughout the country to avoid spreading fear and harassment amongst Azadars and organisers of Majalis and mourning processions so that Azadars could perform their Azadari rites without any fear; 8) Preaching of biases should be prohibited and terrorism and the terrorists should be rooted out completely; 9) In case of any untoward incident the issue may be resolved through contacting the local administration and the local Muharram Committee of the Tehrik Nifaze Fiqh-i-Jafariya. The Central Muharram Committee of the TNFJ may be approached if the issue remains unresolved at local level; 10) The organisers of Majalis-e-Aza and Azadari processions should take protective measures and remain fully watchful and alert; 11) The countrymen should keep a strict eye on the enemies of religion and the motherland and actively announce their hatred against the elements promoting all type of biases; 12) All schools of thought should preach their faith and ideologies in a positive manner and should highlight the deeds of Imam Aali Muqaam (A.S.) and his diehard companions; 13) Ulema, waizeen, and zakireen should give priority to unity, brotherhood and solidarity & integrity of the motherland in all matters and all leaders should suspend all type of political activities during Ashra-e-Muharram. Azadars should give priority to Azadari over all other matters; 14) Women should follow the seerat of Mastooraat Mukhadddat-e-Ismat and Taharat and the youngsters that of Mashaheer-e-Islam; 15) Discipline should strictly be followed during the Majalis-e-Aza and Azadari processions and all those activities should be avoided that are contrary to the sanctity of Azadari; 16) Dignity and honour of all Makatib and Masalik should be respected without any discrimination; 17) Organisers of the Azadari programmes are responsible to follow the Code of Azadari and also advise others to follow it in letter and spirit.
