Rabi-ul-awwal is the third month of Islamic calendar and
comes after safar-ul-muzaffar. Azadari remains continue till the 8th of this
month.Ist night (the night before the first day of Rabi-ul-Awwal) is “shab-
e-Hijrat-e-Rasool (peace be upon him and his Aal). The night when syed-ul-
Ambia (Lord of the prophets) Khatm-ur-Rusul (seal of the prophets) Hazrat
Muhammad (peace of Allah be upon him and his Asl) migrated from
makkah muazzama to medina munawwara. At that moment his eyes were
filled with tears because love with native land has been termed a part of
Emaan (faith/belief).A plot to assassinate the Holy prophet was made by polytheists
tribes. Holy prophet, Ba hukme ilahi (by the command of Allah), Put
Ameer-ul-momeneen Hazrat Ali Ibne Abi Talib (A.S) to sleep in the
prophet’s bed, enabling the prophet (peace of Allah be upon him and his
Aal) to migrate towards Medina Munawwara.Then the following verse of sura-e-baqara (the cow) was revealed
in praise of Maula-e-Ka’enaat Hazrat Ali Ibne Abi Talib (A.S) :
“And among men is he who sells his self (soul) to seek the pleasure
of Allah”. ( 207-sura-e-baqara)
- Recitation of Ziarat of Holy Prophet Hazrat Muhammad Mustafa
(peace of Allah be upon him and his Aal) and Ziarat of Ameer-ul-
momeeneen Hazrat Ali ibne Abi Talib (A.S in this night is desirable (
mustahab) (mafatihul Jinnan and other Kutub-e-Adiya may be consulted for
Ziaraat)Following are the some aamaal of the Ist day of Rabi-ul-
Awwal as reported by some Ulema:
- To keep fast;
- Recite the Ziarat of Holy prophet ( peace of Allah be upon him and his
Aal);- Recite the Ziarat of Ameer-ul-momeneen Hazrat Ali ibne Abi Talib
(A.S).The 11th successor of Holy prophet Hazrat Muhammad (peace of Allah
be upon him and his progeny), and the father of 12th Imam Hazrat Saheb-al-
Asr( the controller of the era) Ajja Lallahu Ta’ala Farajahu, Hazrat Imam
Hasan Askari bin Hazrat Imam Ali Naqi (A.S) was martyred on 8th of Rabi-
ul-Awwal in the year 260 A.H AT that time he was 28 years of age . His
(A.S) only son Hazrat saheb-al-Asr Imam mehdi Ajja lalahu ta’ala farajahu,
who was at that time 5 years of age, under took the washing and shrouding
of his holy body and performed his funeral prayer. He was buried in his
house at samra, the house in which his (A.S) father Imam Ali Naqi (A.S)
was buried . His Holy mausoleum is in Samra, Iraq.Ziarat of Hazrat Imam Hasan Askari (A.S) should be recited in this
day.(Kutub-e-Adiya may be consulted for Ziarat)
9th of Rabi-ul-Awwal is the day of glory, honour, dignity and
blessings . It is a great eid day named “Eid-e-Shuja” and “Eid-e-Zahra (A.S).
many hadith have been reported in its merit (fazeelat). This is the day when
Ahle Bayt-e-Rasool (peace of Allah be upon them) brought their soag(
mourning ) to an end as Hazrat Mukhtar Saqafi (blessings of Allah be upon
him) took the revenge from Qatlaan-e-Imam Hussain (A.S) by killing them
all in the same manner as they did, and then he sent the heads of Qatlaan-e-
Imam Hussain (A.S) {(the murderers of Imam Hussain) including ibne ziyad
and umer bin sa’ad umer bin sa’ad was the 1st to shoot the arrow towards
khayaam-e-Hussaini (Hussaini camps) and then proudly said: “Be witness
that me the 1st to shoot the arrow.”} to Beemaar-e-Karbala Hazrat Imam
Zain-ul- Abedeen (A.S) who then paid sajda-e- shukr (thanking prostration)
to Allah and said “thanks for Allah , for He took revenge from our enemies”
and prayed for Hazrat mukhtar (blessings of Allah be upon him) in these
words: “Allah will reward mukhtar good” (Bahar-ul-Anwaar vol: 45, Jame-
ur- Ruwaat vol:02)As Hazrat Imam Hasan Askari (A.S) was martyred on 8th of Rabi-ul-
Awwal, so 9th of Rabi-ul-Awwal is the 1st day of Hazrat Imam mehdi,
Saheb-al-Asr-e-Wazzaman’s (Ajja lallahu farajahu) Imamate. And due to
this, this day achieves more heights of honour, glory and excellence. He,
Imam-e-Zamana Ajja lallahu farajahu was born in the night of sha’baan 15
(the night between 14th and 15th of sha’baan ) in the city of samra in Iraq in
the year 225 A.H. He is the Imam of our era and Hadith of Holy Prophet
(peace of Allah be upon him and his progeny) goes:
“One who dies without knowing the Imam of his time, dies a death of
ignorance (jahalat). Hazrat Imam Mehdi, al-Qa’em, saheb-al-asre wazzaman
(Ajja lallahu ta’ala farajahu ) is our Imam, Imam of our era and as the verse
71 of sura Bani Israel says:
“(Remember) The day (of judgement) when we shall call every
people with their Imam”. We will be called and presented with our Imam on
resurrection day.Friends of Muhammad and Aale Muhammad (peace of Allah be
upon them) should celebrate this day with great happiness.Some Aamaal of this day, as reported by ulema are as under:
- To wear new and fine dress;
- Perfume oneself ;
- Give feast to momeneen;
- Cause them (momeneen) happy;
- Greet each other;
- Recite Ziarat-e-Imam-e-Zamana (Ajja Lallahu Ta’ala farajahu)
This glorious day is being announced by Mukhtar force Pakistan, a
subsidiary wing of Tehreek Nafaz-e-Fiqh-e-Jafariya Pakistan and which
protects Sha’air Allah regardless of any differences, to be observed as
“Youm-e-mukhtar” mukhtar day through out the country.Rabi-ul Awwal 12 is (bena barawayat-e-mukhtalefa) is the
birthday of Holy Prophet Hazrat Muhammad Mustafa (peace of Allah be
upon him and his Aal). A special prayer to be offered in this day has been
reported which is as under:
- Offer two rakaat prayer (salat/namaz): In 1st rakat recite sura-e-kaferoon
thrice after sura-e-Hamd while in the 2nd rakat recite sura-e-Ikhlaas thrice
after sura-e-Hamd.In the same day Holy Prophet Muhammad (peace of Allah be upon him and
his progeny) arrived in medina al- Munawwara.Sheikh has said that Bani marvan’s rule was also terminated on 12th Rabi-ul-
Awwal in the year 32 A.H.On 14th of Rabi-ul-Awwal, Yazeed bin mawiya (curse of Allah be
upon them and may the pit of hell be for them) died of pleurisy in Hooraan
in the year 64 A.H and entered the hell.Yazeed (curse of Allah be upon him) after he seated on caliphate seeked the
allegiance from Nawasa-e-Rasool-Ussaqalyn (the grand son of Holy
prophet) Hazrat Imam Hussain(A.S) replied him “One like me can not take
the oath of Allegiance of one like you”.
‘He gave his head but did not put His hand into the hand of Yazeed.
After the wrongful killings of Imam Hussain (A.S) and his 72 near and dear
ones, the Governor of Medina Amr Bin Saeed (curse of Allah be upon him)
raised the houses of Ahl-e-bayt-e-Athaar (Holy progeny of Rasool Peace of
Allah be upon Them) situated in Medina.17th Night (Night between Rabi-ul-Awal 16 and 17) is the night of
blessing as (according to authoritative reports) it is the birth night of
Khatem-ul-Mursaleen (seal of Prophets), father of Syeda-Tun-Nisa-
ilaalameen (mistress of ladies of the worlds) Syeda Fatima Tuz Zahra (A.S)
and the grand father of Shabab-e-Ahlil Jannah (Masters of the youths of
heaven) Hazrat Imam Hasan and Hazrat Imam Hussain (A.S).This is, as quoted Syed, also the night of Holy Prophet’s accession
(bena ba rawayat) about which Holy Quran said:
“Glory be to Him who made His Abd go by night from the sacred
mosque (Masjid-e-Haram) to the Farthest Mosque (Masjid-e-Aqsa) whose
precincts we have blessed .( sura-e-bani Israel).17th day of Rabi-ul-Awwal is that blessed and honoured day when
Habib-e-Khuda (favourite of Allah) Holy Prophet Hazrat Muhammad-e-
Mustafa son of Hazrat Abdullah and Hazrat Amena (peace of Allah be upon
them) was born in Makkah Mu’azzama on Friday at the time of fajr
(but this should be in mind that He is the proof of
His (Prophet) father Hazrat
Abdullah (A.S) died before his birth. Holy Prophet’s grand Father Abdul
Muttalib (A.S) Holy Prophet Hazrat Muhammad (peace of Allah be upon
him and his Aal) was being cared, brought up and supported by his (Holy
Prophet) uncle Hazrat Abu Talib (A.S) the protector of Resalat and father
of Maula-e-Ka’enaat Hazrat Ali (A.S).In the same day the 6th successor of Holy prophet (peace of Allah
be upon him and his Aal), saadiq-e-Aal-e-Muhammad Hazrat Imam Jafer-e-
Saadiq(A.S) the son of Hazrat Imam Muhammad Baqir (A.S) and Hazrat
umm-e-farwa (A.S) was born in the holy city of medina in the year 83 A.H.The birth of Hazrat Imam Jafer-e-Saadiq (A.S) on the same day
increased the merit, dignity and honour of this blessed day.Many aamal of this day have been reported,
Some of them are:
- To take bath;
- Wear new dress;
- Greet each other;
- Give charity;
- Keep fast; it is reported that keeping the fast in this day is equal to one
year’s fast in reward and this in one of those four days in the year, in which
fasting is distinguished.- Recite Ziarat of Holy prophet ( peace of Allah be upon him and his
progeny);- Recite Ziarat of Ameer-ul-momeneen Hazrat Ali ibne Abi Talib (A.S);
- Recite Ziarat-e-Jamia;
(mafatihul Jinnan and kutub-e-Adiya may be consulted for Ziaraat)
offer two rakaat prayer (salat), in each rakat recite sura-e-Qadr 10
times,
sura-e-Ikhlaas 10 times after sura Hamd and then recite the following dua’a:
(Zaad-ul-ma’ad may be consulted for complete dua’a).
The week from Rabi-ul Awwal 12 to Rabi-ul-Awwal 17 is being observed
through out the country as Hafta-e-Wahdat-o-Akhuwwat (Unity and
fraternity week) as announced by Tehreek Nafaz-e-Fiqh-e-Jafariya Pakistan
(TNFJ) to promote unity among Muslims and to show this practically that
On the 18th of Rabi-ul-Awwal Hazrat Umm-e-Kulsoom
(A.S) the daughter of Syeda-tun-Niza-ilaalameen Hazrat Fatima Tuz
Zahra (A.S) and Ameer -ul-momeneen Syed -ul-Awsiya Hazrat Ali ibne
Abi Talib (A.S) was born in the year 08 A.H. She (A.S) accompanied her
brother Hazrat Imam Hussain (A.S) in his journey to karbala. Her Holy
shrine is in Syria.Rabi-ul-Awwal 26, (bena Ba rawayat-e-mukhtalefa) is
that grevious day of the year when momin-e-Quresh, protector of Resalat
Hazrat Abu Talib (A.S) the uncle of Holy prophet Muhammad (peace of
Allah be upon him and his progeny) was died. He was that blessed tree
under the shade of which Islam and prophet of Islam took shelter. This is
what Allah has said in the Holy Quran.
“Did He (Allah) not find you an orphan and give you shelter?
He gave strength to divine mission, Hazrat Abu Talib and Hazrat Khadeeja
tul kubra (peace of Allah be upon them) were those two great personalities
in the world who never left the prophet alone in the hour of need. The entire
universe is witness over Hazrat Abu Talib’s love for Holy prophet Hazrat
Muhammad (peace and his Aal) and vice versa. That’s why Hazrat Abu
Talib (A.S) amongst men has the singular honour in the whole world that
Holy prophet termed the year of his death as “Aam-ul-Huzn” (year of grief).
This spirit shows that respect Hazrat Abu Talib (A.S) enjoyed from the Holy
prophet (peace of Allah be upon him and his Aal).TNFJ announces this day to be observed as youm-ul-Huzn (day of
grief ) through out the country.
